The service
MakeThatForMe helps buyers discover independent makers and agree custom work. A maker is responsible for the work, truthful descriptions, delivery and rights to uploaded media. A buyer must provide accurate requirements and review proposed work. Use the service lawfully and keep your account secure.
Agree before making
Use the project conversation to agree the design, dimensions, materials, quantity, timeline and revision limits. The maker submits a structured quote with a separate delivery cost. Buyer acceptance locks that version. Neither party can silently change it. A changed scope or price needs a recorded agreement and support review before work or extra payment.
Payments and the launch model
For new launch orders, the buyer pays the full accepted amount through the connected payment provider. Paystack processes the payment and settles to the platform. The platform holds funds in its own account during making, handles disputes and manually pays the maker after the buyer accepts delivery. MakeThatForMe keeps each order’s accepted price breakdown, delivery, fee and maker earnings in its records. Paystack handles checkout and settlement; MakeThatForMe handles maker payouts and payment issues. Existing accepted deposit agreements keep their original terms.
Fees and rate protection
The launch fee is 9% of item, material and service rows. Delivery is excluded and passed through in full. Payment processing is included, with no extra MakeThatForMe processing deduction. The studio’s agreed rate is protected for 24 months from its first accepted quote. Accepted project rates remain fixed. Future rates are shown before a new agreement is accepted.
Approvals and delivery
Makers provide updates and evidence at the agreed checkpoints. Buyers can approve a match or ask for changes. Keep the finished-item review and delivery confirmation in the project. Do not confirm delivery before receiving and checking the item. We aim to initiate an eligible release within one hour of accepted delivery; provider settlement, verification, outages or an unresolved dispute can affect arrival time.
Issues and cancellations
Report non-delivery, damage, a missed agreement or another payment issue from the project. A reported issue pauses unfinished work and blocks further release submission. A transfer already submitted cannot necessarily be recalled. Support reviews the accepted brief, approvals, evidence and applicable consumer rights. A custom item is not automatically exempt from remedies for non-delivery or failure to match the agreement.
Content and availability
Upload only media you own or may publish; label inspiration honestly. You allow us to display your published media to operate and promote the service. You retain ownership of your work. We may remove unlawful or misleading content and restrict misuse. We do not guarantee that every request produces a sale or that the service is always uninterrupted.
Contact and governing context
The first launch serves Kenya in KES. Mandatory consumer and data protection rights continue to apply. Use Contact for questions, account requests and unresolved complaints. These terms should be read with the privacy, cookie and payment-dispute policies.
