CLEAR AGREEMENTS · LAST UPDATED 5 NOVEMBER 2026

Payments, delivery & disputes

A clear agreement comes first

Start with a picture or message. Agree only the details that matter for this item. Your maker can use one item-price row or show materials and labour separately. Delivery always has its own row. Check the total, scope, date and quality steps before accepting; that locks the quote.

Pay once, follow the work

Pay now uses the locked server amount. A payment is confirmed only after the provider verifies it. A pending payment is not proof that a maker has received funds. Check the payment status before retrying. Your order and Payments & releases pages show references and confirmed records.

Quality without extra paperwork

Use the same conversation for reference images, progress photos and decisions. Choose only useful checks: a colour sample, a sketch, a measurement or a finish. Ask for a correction as soon as something differs. Review the finished item before delivery and confirm receipt only once it matches the agreed brief. Early checks reduce surprises; they do not remove your right to raise a problem.

Not delivered or late

Ask the maker for an update in the project. If the agreed delivery is missed or there is no response, choose Report an issue and state what happened. Support receives an order reference, progress pauses and new release submission is blocked while the case is reviewed. Keep courier evidence and the agreed date in the conversation.

Wrong, damaged or not as agreed

Describe the difference and attach clear photos in the project. Support compares the accepted quote, agreed changes, checkpoints and delivery evidence. Depending on the facts and applicable rights, the outcome may involve a correction, remake, replacement, return or refund. Do not send an item back until return arrangements are recorded.

Cancellations and refunds

Contact the maker and support promptly, especially before materials are bought or work begins. Support reviews completed work, agreed terms, payment status and legal rights before confirming an outcome. Refunds are not automatic, and no fee or refund amount is promised without a case decision. Approved refunds follow the payment provider’s process and timing; this version does not execute refunds automatically.

When the maker is paid

The buyer pays MakeThatForMe through Paystack. Paystack settles to the platform’s bank or M-Pesa account on its normal schedule. MakeThatForMe records what is owed to each maker and manually pays them after the buyer accepts delivery. The platform fee excludes delivery. We aim to initiate eligible releases within one hour after acceptance; this is a release target, not a guarantee of bank or mobile-wallet arrival. Provider settlement, available funds, account verification, disputes and outages can add time. Do not start work relying on a pending payment.

Getting help

Use Report an issue inside the project for an order problem, so the correct order ID follows the report. For access problems, transfers already submitted or a completed-order concern, use Contact and provide the order or payment reference. Never send a payment PIN or password. Support aims to reply within two hours; a resolution can take longer when evidence or provider investigation is needed.
